PREPARE - PLAN - PRACTICE
Ready Rhode Island's. mission statement: "Ready Rhode Island strengthens community resilience across Northern Rhode Island by integrating preparedness, public education, and coordinated volunteer response. Through structured training programs, including CPR/AED and emergency preparedness, and through ongoing exercises and mutual aid, we develop a capable volunteer force that supports local and state emergency management agencies. Our mission is to enhance whole-community readiness for natural and man-made disasters, ensuring that residents are equipped to sustain life, support one another, and assist first responders when systems are overwhelmed."
Every year natural and man-made disasters randomly strike thousands of families all across the United States. The time may come when it may be our state or maybe even our town. Lives are changed forever. Families may lose the possessions, homes or even worse—their lives or the lives of those they hold dear.
We can’t change history, but, with your help, we can make a difference for disaster victims to get from one day to the next.
It’s not a job for everyone. It takes commitment. It takes training. It takes a hard working, caring community of individuals who are willing to answer the call for help.
Through ongoing training, exercises, and mutual aid, our team works alongside local and state emergency services to enhance response capabilities when incidents exceed traditional resources. We empower individuals and neighborhoods to be self-reliant, informed, and ready to assist one another during emergencies, ensuring that communities can effectively respond, recover, and move forward together.
